Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have served as a training ground for artists of various art forms, talents, and skill sets. HBCU Arts is a summer program designed to showcase the work of students, faculty, and alumni from these institutions that continue to weave the soul of a resilient people into the present and future, keeping alive a rich cultural heritage.
Join us in Martha's Vineyard this summer as we journey from the origins of the Negro spiritual to the present-day through stories and songs of sorrow, joy, faith, and hope. This full day of events marks the beginning of an annual series to raise awareness, educate, and honor the legacy of HBCU arts and artists.
