In recognizing and honoring the well-seasoned heritage of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), renowned for nurturing artists nearly two centuries, HBCU Arts™ will launch the inaugural HBCU Arts Festival, the first of its kind, to showcase the extraordinary talents of HBCU artists.
Founded by Dr. Jolie Rocke, HBCU Arts™ envisions a world where the artistic brilliance of talented students, stellar faculty, and ambitious alums are fully realized. By providing essential tools, resources, and opportunities, the creativity of artists from various disciplines can be nourished, enabling them to flourish.
Join us in Martha's Vineyard this summer as we journey from the origins of the Negro spiritual to the present day through stories and songs of sorrow, joy, faith, and hope. The transformative power of the arts in this unforgettable setting will etch an indelible imprint, weaving together the past, present, and future of a resilient people while nurturing a vibrant cultural legacy.
